Pirate ship in Ione

Bill Thiry of Ione decorated his home for Halloween with some unique decorations.

Thiry enjoys Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean ride and the movies and wanted to bring that to his home in Ione for all to enjoy.

"Last year I did not have a ship, but really wanted one and so luck found me last June when I volunteered to help decorate the graduation dance at Jackson Junior High," he said. The school used the ship for a school dance and gave it to Thiry when they were done with it.

"Whoever built the ship originally did a fantastic job," he said. "(It) must have taken some time to create. The ship has so much detail."

Thiry was pleased to see people stop by his house to check out the decorations. "This year we had just over 600 people stop by for pictures," he added.
